Vetrimaaran reveals his upcoming projects, which include Vada Chennai 2 with Dhanush

During the recent audio launch event of Kuberaa, actor Dhanush confirmed that his most-awaited sequel to Vada Chennai, helmed by Vetrimaaran, would begin in 2026.

Vetrimaaran, in an event held recently, seconded Dhanush, saying that since the latter is also the producer of Vada Chennai, and if he says the second part will begin next year, then it will be so. The director also revealed his lineup of films: he has a movie with producer Kalaipuli Thanu, after which, he, Dhanush and Vels International will collaborate on a project, which could probably be Vada Chennai 2.

Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran's previous release was Viduthalai 2 (2024), starring Vijay Sethupathi, Soori and Manju Warrier. Dhanush, last seen in Raayan and helmed Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, got his Tamil-Telugu film Kuberaa released on Friday. He next has Idly Kadai, in which he also serves as the director, and Tere Ishk Mein awaiting release.
