Suresh Krisnna-Y Gee Mahendra's Charukesi first look out

With the trailer launch of the film scheduled for June 21, Charukesi is yet to get a release date

Two years ago, the actor and dramatist Y Gee Mahendra expressed a desire to adapt his popular stage play, Charukesi, into a film. On Wednesday, it was made official that filmmaker Suresh Krissna helmed the film adaptation.

The makers of Charukesi unveiled a first-look poster of the film on Friday. The poster featured Y Gee Mahendra and Sathyaraj, among other actors in the cast.

The play is about a classical musician who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. The star cast includes Samuthirakani, Suhasini Maniratnam, Ramya Pandiyan, Raj Ayyappa, Jayaprakash, Thalaivaasal Vijay, Sai Dheena and YG Madhuvanthi.

The makers have roped in Deva as the music composer, Pa Vijay for dialogues and lyrics, Sanjay for cinematography, Richard for editing and Shankar Mahadevan for vocals. The film will be based on the story penned by Venkat and the screenplay by Suresh Krissna.

Suresh Krissna is known for his stellar works such as Sathya, Annamalai and Baasha.

Produced by R Arun, the film will be made under the banners Suresh Krissna Productions Private Limited, Arun Visualz and Madras Cine Production.
