After a successful outing with debut director S Jayakumar in Blue Star, actor Shanthnu will next star in a romantic comedy Magenta, starring opposite Anjali Nair.

Magenta is helmed by Bharath Mohan, who previously made Igloo. The film went on floors recently with a formal pooja.

Apart from the lead actors, the film also stars Badava Gopi, RJ Anandhi, and Bucks in pivotal roles. The makers say the film will be a feel-good entertainer based on the plotline: "She’s sunrise, he’s dusk—never meant to meet. Yet Universe stitched their shadows on the same street."

Magenta marks the production debut of Brand Blitz Entertainment's Dr JP Leelaram, Rekha Leelaram and Raju. The producers say, "We are so happy to have Magenta as our maiden production venture. When director Bharath Mohan narrated the script, we found it more refreshing and could visualise his entire narrative."

The technical crew of Magenta comprises music director Dharan Kumar, cinematographer Ballu, editor Pavithran, art director Prem and stunt director Sakthi Saravanan. The film's production will take place in Chennai and Kotagiri.
