Thug Life: Tamil Nadu government allows special shows for Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam film

In an official statement, the government has granted the makers permission to screen shows at 9 am on June 5, and the last show should end at 2 am

Amid massive anticipation for Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film Thug Life, which is set for release on Thursday, June 5, the Tamil Nadu government has given a green signal for special shows to be screened in theatres. In an official statement, the government has granted the makers permission to screen shows at 9 am on June 5.

Following the request from Raaj Kamal Films International, the producers of Thug Life, the government has only granted one special show for 9 am on June 5. While the first show is allowed only for 9 am, the last show should end at 2 am. The maximum number of shows allowed in Tamil Nadu theatres is limited to five per day.

The extended ensemble cast of Thug Life comprises Silambarasan, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nassar, Joju George, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tanikella Bharani, Vadivukkarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Vaiyapuri, Bagavathi Perumal, Baburaj, Ali Fazal, Rohit Saraf, Arjun Chidambaram, Chetan, and Rajashri Deshpande.

Thug Life marks Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan's reunion after 36 years since their hit outing, Nayakan. The technical crew of Thug Life features cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music director AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad and action directors Anbariv. The film is a co-production between Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Film International, and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
