The Coolie fever is gripping the nation as the release date nears. The team is on a promotion spree and is revealing interesting updates about the film, sending expectations through the roof.

Music composer of the film, Anirudh, in his latest interview with Suryan FM, said that Coolie will have the best of both worlds: Starpower and Smarts. "There is a lot of anticipation for the film. It is a Rajinikanth sir film. My collaborations with him were all hits, so are my collaborations with Lokesh. This is the first time the actor and director are joining hands. Also, Sun Pictures is a huge production house. I was discussing with Lokesh the other day, we both were marvelled at the hype the film is garnering, given we have just released three songs and four back shots of the actors. Even the teaser or trailer is yet to be released."

Elaborating on why the film will be both a treat for fans and cinema lovers, he said, "Coolie will showcase Lokesh's screenplay strengths. This will be an intelligent film, while also being high on star power. Both aspects have blended well."

Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie boasts a star-studded ensemble consisting of Nagarjuna as Simon, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, Upendra as Kaleesha, Shruti Haasan as Preethi, and Soubin Shahir as Dayal. Rajinikanth plays Deva in the film. Confirming speculations, it was also recently revealed that Aamir Khan will play Dahaa in Coolie, an announcement that has upped the excitement for the film.

The rest of the technical crew consists of cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh alongside Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.

Coolie is releasing on August 14 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
