Actor Vijay Sethupathi's much-anticipated film with director Puri Jagannadh is "coming out very well" and shaping up to be a pan-India entertainer. In a press meet for Sir Madam (Thalaivan Thalaivii's Telugu title), the actor heaped praised on the iSmart Shankar director and called him a "legend".
The yet-to-be-titled project, which marks the first collaboration between Puri Jagannadh and Vijay Sethupathi, stars Samyuktha Menon plays the female lead, while veteran star Tabu has been signed for a key role.
Sharing his experience working on the project, he said, "Puri sir is a legend. Working with him is a great experience. He's very sweet, and I enjoy working with him every day. The way he writes dialogues and executes everything, his timing is just awesome. The movie is coming out very well."
Kannada actor Duniya Vijay is also part of the principal cast. The film’s music composer is yet to be officially announced, though reports indicate Mahati Swara Sagar is likely to be brought on board.
The project, which has generated curiosity among audiences across languages, was launched with a formal pooja ceremony last month. Reports suggest the working title could be Beggar, although the makers have not confirmed this. The film is being presented by Charmme Kaur under the Puri Connects banner and co-produced by JB Narayana Rao Kondrolla of JB Motion Pictures.
The film is being planned as a pan-Indian release, and will release in five languages of Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi's latest family entertainer Thalaivan Thalaivii, directed by Pandiraaj, has been receiving a good response in theatres, and has crossed the Rs 25 crore-mark at the box office.
