Audiences will get to travel back into 1950s Madras, as the teaser for the upcoming drama, Kaantha, will be released on July 28. The release of the teaser will coincide on the occasion of Dulquer Salmaan's birthday.

Kaantha, is Dulquer's latest venture in the period genre, whose previous period films includes Mahanati, Kurup, Sita Ramam, King of Kotha, and Lucky Baskhar. Dulquer is also producing the film along with Rana Daggubati.

The rest of the cast of the film includes Rana, Bhagyashri Borse, and Samuthirakani. Rana's previous Tamil film was Vettaiyan, in which he starred as the antagonist against Rajinikanth. Bhagyashri will be seen in the upcoming film Kingdom.

The film is directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. With Jhanu Chanthar composing music for the film, the rest of the technical crew of Kaantha consists of Dani Sanchez-Lopez as the cinematographer and Lewllyn Anthony Gonsalvez as the editor. Dulquer produces the film under his Wayfarer films banner, with Rana producing under his Spirit Media banner.
