A while ago, the Muthal Pakkam producer, Mageswaran Devadas' Sinnathambi Production released the film's trailer. The Anish Ashraf directorial brings back Vetri as a police officer after the actor's debut film 8 Thottakkal (2017) and Jothi (2022). Going by the trailer, the film follows a police officer's search for a serial killer— a plotline similar to Vetri's 2022 film. Vetri's character goes after the breadcrumbs of multiple cases, potentially connected to a large crime by a serial killer. "Let the hunt begin," reads the caption at the end of the trailer. Much like the recent teaser, the Muthal Pakkam trailer also does not show Vetri in a police uniform.

The film also stars Shilpa Manjunath, Thambi Ramaiah, Redin Kingsley, and Magesh Das. Its technical crew includes composer AGR, cinematographer Arvind, editor VS Vishal, art directors Suresh and Venkat, Action Noor for stunts, as well as choreographers Dinesh and Dina. It has songs with lyrics by Karthick Netha and Vivek.

The makers recently completed the film's audio launch in Chennai. Also co-produced by Shandy Ravichandran, Muthal Pakkam is slated for an August 01 release in theatres worldwide. It will clash with Accused and Housemates at the box office.

Besides Muthal Pakkam, Vetri's upcoming films include Iravu. The Jagadeesan Subu directorial is reportedly in post production.
