Even 24 years after Sivaji Ganesan's passing, the memories of watching a film starring the actor is a common experience of every movie-goer in Tamil Nadu. The actor made his debut in Parasakthi (1952) with his final film as the lead being Padayappa (1999).

When the actor was asked by Rajiv Mehrotra, in 1997, about his co-stars, the actor said, "In my time, it was so beautiful. All the heroines and heroes were very tough. Bhanumati, Padmini, Savitri were giants. Sometimes they gave me notes on a scene and suggested, 'You can do the scene like this.'" He giddily added, "You had to be very careful with those ladies, as they were very intelligent."

With P Bhanumathi, Sivaji Ganesan has starred in films like Ambikapathy (1957), Kalvanin Kadhali (1955), and Arivaali (1963), amongst others.

Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini have starred together in films like Deiva Piravi (1960), Saraswathi Sabatham (1966), Pesum Deivam (1967), and Vietnam Veedu (1970), amongst others.

Sivaji Ganesan shared screen space with Savitri in films like Karnan (1964), Thiruvilayadal (1966), Kandhan Karunai (1967), and his 100th film Navarathri (1964).
