Actor Suriya has completed the second production schedule of his 46th film, according to SIIMA. The film, tentatively titled Suriya 46, also stars Mamitha Baiju in a key role. Recently, the film's writer-director Venky Atluri revealed that it would be a family entertainer and would capture Suriya in a new light. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi is producing it under the Sithara Entertainments banner, in association with Fortune Four Cinemas.

Reportedly, the film has a budget that exceeds 300 crore and was initially thought of as a biopic on Sanjay Gandhi, who contributed significantly to the creation of Maruti 800, before the recent changes in its screenplay. According to reports, delays in the acquisition of the rights required to develop the biopic contributed to the makers' change in plan.

Reports suggest that Raveena Tandon and Radhika Sarathkumar also play pivotal roles in the film. At the time of its launch, the film's production banner tagged both Raveena and Radhika in the announcement post on X. Going by the tags, the film's technical team includes composer GV Prakash Kumar, cinematographer Nimish Ravi, editor Navin Nooli, and production designer Banglan.

The film marks Raveena's Tamil cinema comeback after her starring role in 2001's Aalavandhan, opposite Kamal Haasan. The makers are planning to release the film in theatres next summer.
