We had previously reported that actor Vetri, who recently appeared in Rajaputhiran, will headline Muthal Pakkam.

The recently released teaser of the film depicts Vetri as an unconventional police officer, who appears in plainclothes alone, is after a serial killer and guides the department to think outside the box to crack the case. The other details about the plot are under wraps.

The filmmakers earlier announced that the film will release in theatres on August 1.

Having made her debut in Kannada with Mungaru Male 2, Shilpa was introduced in Tamil with Vijay Antony's Yaman (2017) and went on to collaborate with him again in Kaali (2018). Her Tamil credits include Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum (2019), Web (2023) and Singappenney (2024). Meanwhile, Vetri, who had three releases last year, starred in Rajaputhiran and has Iravu in the post-production stage.

Muthal Pakkam, directed by Anish Ashraf, has cinematography by Arvi, cuts by VS Vishal, art direction by Suresh and Venkat, stunts by Action Noor and dance choreography by Dinesh and Dina.

Muthal Pakkam is produced by Mageswaran Devadas under Sinnathamby Productions.

The film is releasing alongside Housemates and Accused.
