The Indian film industry has been honouring veteran actor B Saroja Devi since her demise earlier this Monday. She had been dealing with age-associated illness. In a tributary post, Keerthy Suresh shared a picture of hers with the late actor clad in red clothes on her Instagram Stories. The caption for the post reads, "A legend in every sense. Her beauty, her voice, her exceptional films will stay with us forever."

The late actor has more 200 feature films to her credit, including over 20 titles alongside each of MG Ramachandran (MGR), NT Rama Rao (NTR), and Sivaji Ganesan. Her role opposite MGR in 1958's Nadodi Mannan catapulted her into an A-list heroine in Tamil cinema. She had strong stints in the subsequent years with successful films such as Puthiya Paravai, Kalyana Parisu, Paigham, and Anbe Vaa.

Paigham marked the actor's entry into Hindi cinema, starring alongside legendary Dilip Kumar. However, her Hindi filmography is limited as compared to Tamil or Kannada. Notably, she did not feature in many Malayalam films either. Even amidst all the tributes for Saroja Devi, the who's who of Malayalam and Hindi cinema is conspicuous by their absence.
