Veteran actor Sanjay Dutt, who played a key role in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo (2023), revealed at a recent event that he was "wasted" in the film as he didn't get a "big role". Attending the star-studded event of KD teaser launch in Chennai, headlined by Dhruva Sarja, he also shared his relationship with Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Ajith.
Speaking to the press following the event, Sanjay Dutt shared, "I respect Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, they are my seniors. I look up to them and learn from them. I have worked with Rajinikanth in multiple movies. He is the most humble person. I also loved working with Thalapathy Vijay."
The actor, who played Leo's father Antony Das in the Lokesh Kanagaraj film, jokingly revealed how he was unhappy with the director for not giving him a significant role. "I am angry at Lokesh because he did not give me a big role. He wasted me."
Quickly moving away from the topic without elaborating on it, he went on to talk about his friendship with Ajith. "I love Ajith sir. I am a close friend of his. I have watched several Rajini sir's films. I am looking forward to watching Coolie. I will also watch Thug Life for Kamal sir," he added.
Directed by Prem and produced by KVN Productions, KD brings together Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Shilpa Shetty, and Reeshma Nanaiah in a gritty tale of blood, power, and payback.
Dhruva Sarja plays Kaali Dasa, aka KD, a man consumed by power and vengeance. Sanjay Dutt, as Dhak Deva, exudes silent menace, seemingly the kingpin of this chaotic chessboard. The teaser paints a picture of stylized 1970s Bengaluru underworld and leans towards a gripping gangster drama.
