We had earlier reported late last month that actor Vetri is headlining director Anish Ashraf's Mudhal Pakkam, opposite Shilpa Manjunath.

The latest update from the makers is that the film will release in theatres on August 1, along with actor Udhayaa's Accused. The recent first look poster of the film hints at an action thriller.

Having made her debut in Kannada with Mungaru Male 2, Shilpa was introduced in Tamil with Vijay Antony's Yaman (2017) and went on to collaborate with him again in 2018's Kaali. Her Tamil credits include Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum (2019), Web (2023) and Singappenney (2024). Meanwhile, Vetri, who had three releases last year, starred in Rajaputhiran and has Iravu in the post-production stage.

Nothing much is known about the plot of Mudhal Pakkam, which has cinematography by Arvi, cuts by VS Vishal, art direction by Suresh and Venkat, stunts by Action Noor and dance choreography by Dinesh and Dina.
