Sivakarthikeyan's Maaveeran garners positive response in advance screening in Japan

Maaveeran revolved around Sathya, a talented cartoonist who starts hearing a voice after an accident, which tries to make him kill a corrupt minister

After its dream run at the box office in India in 2023, Sivakarthikeyan's much-acclaimed Maaveeran is all set to make waves in Japan as well. The Madonne Ashwin-directed fantasy action film has received positive response from audience who were seated for its advance screening. The film, also starring Aditi Shankar, Saritha, Mysskin, Monisha Blessy, Yogi Babu and Sunil in lead roles, has been named Marvilan: The Legendary Hero for its countrywide release in Japan. It will hit more than 55 screens in the country.

Maaveeran starred Sivakarthikeyan in the role of Sathya, a talented cartoonist who starts hearing a voice after an accident, which tries to make him kill a corrupt minister. Vijay Sethupathi took on the voice role that instructs Sivakarthikeyan while Ravi Teja voiced its Telugu version.

The music was composed by Bharath Sankar, with cinematography and editing handled by Vidhu Ayyanna and Philomin Raj respectively.

The film marked Madonne Ashwin's sophomore directorial after Mandela, starring Yogi Babu, which too received critical acclaim from audiences and critics upon its direct-to-OTT release. Madonne Ashwin is a recipient of three National Film Awards.
