Suresh Raina turns actor as his new film is announced

Suresh Raina has a stellar career in the Indian Cricket Team as a part of the 2011 World Cup winning squad, and has been a part of Chennai Super Kings since IPL's inception in 2008

With years of experience on the cricket field, Suresh Raina enters a new one as he is set to become an actor in a yet-to-be-titled film. The announcement was made through a video, which was released by cricketer Shivam Dube, in a ceremony in Chennai.

Directed by Logan, the film is the first production from Dream Knight Stories Private Limited, with D Saravana Kumar backing the film. Sandeep K Vijay is the cinematographer for the film, T Muthuraj as the production designer, and Supreme Sundar as the stunt choreographer. Oscar winner Resul Pookutty is the sound designer and Santosh Narayanan is composing music for the film.

Suresh Raina made his ODI debut in 2005, his T20 debut in 2006, and his Test debut in 2010. He was a middle order batsman and a right-arm off-spin bowler. He was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad, and played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. On August 15 2020, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
