House Mates, which is backed by Sivakarthikeyan through his production house, Sivakarthikeyan Productions, will be releasing on August 1. The production banner has been behind films like Doctor, Kanaa, and Vaazhl.

The film has Darshan and Kaali Venkat in the leads with the rest of the cast consisting of Arsha Baiju, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Dheena, and Abdool Lee. The film is said to be centred around the lives of middle class families.

Darshan has appeared in films like Thunivu, Thumbaa, and Kanaa. Meanwhile, Kaali Venkat is fresh off appearing in Madras Matinee which was released on June 6. He has Kombu Seevi and Bomb in his pipeline.

The crew of House Mates consists of MS Sathish as the cinematographer, Nishar Sharef as the editor, and Dinesh handling stunts. SP Sakthivel serves as a creative producer on House Mates with Kalai Arasu as the co-producer. Along with Sivakarthikeyan, S Vijayaprakash also produces the film. Playsmith Studios and South Studios are backing the film.
