As stunt choreographer Anl Arasu's directorial debut, Phoenix, is getting a theatrical release on Friday, the team was wished well by actor-politician Vijay personally.

Anl Arasu and the film's lead, Surya Sethupathi, who is making his acting debut as a lead, met Vijay for a personal screening and congratulated them on the project. Describing Vijay's support in his acting journey as "unforgettable," Surya, on his social media post, wrote that he looks up to Vijay and that the latter's "kind words" and "warm hug" meant everything to him.

The cast of Phoenix also includes Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Harish Uthaman. The recently unveiled trailer is suggestive of a revenge saga.

Surya has appeared as a child artist in his father's films Naanum Rowdy Dhaan and Sindhubaadh. The star cast of Phoenix is rounded up by Muthukumar, Sampath, Dileepan, Vignesh, Varsha Viswanath, Abi Nakshatra, Sathya NJ, 'Atti' Rishi, and Poovaiyar.

Anl Arasu himself doubles up as the stunt choreographer for the film. The technical crew of Phoenix also includes music director Sam CS, cinematographer R Velraj, and editor Praveen KL.

The film will release alongside Paranthu Po and 3BHK.
