The romantic comedy film Emakku Thozhil Romance, starring Ashok Selvan and Avantika Mishra in the lead roles, is now streaming on Sun NXT. The Balaji Kesavan directorial also stars Urvashi and Bagavathi Perumal in important roles. The film revolves around the misunderstandings between its two lead characters, Uma Shankar (Ashok Selvan) and Leo (Avantika Mishra). The film released in theatres in November last year.

In July, Ashok Selvan courted controversy when he did not attend the film's audio launch, making its producer Thirumalai criticise him. However, the makers called it a "theatrical success" in a press release, making the streaming announcement.

Here is an excerpt from CE's review of the film: "Depth in writing has never been a strong suit for mainstream rom-com cinema, and Emakku Thozhil Romance is no exception to the rule. But then again, even if you take the film for what it tries to be—an innocuous entertainer—its utter lack of ambition is baffling."
