The teaser for Bad Girl, an upcoming coming-of-age drama helmed by Varsha Bharath, was unveiled on Sunday. The film, starring Anjali Sivaraman in the lead role, is produced and presented by Vetri Maaran under his Grass Root Film Company, along with Anurag Kashyap.

The tease shows Anjali as a teenage girl going through the usual range of emotions of an average adolescent. As she falls in love with a boy in high school, she is schooled and restricted by her parents. She then vows to be independent and do everything her parents hate after she becomes a major. The story seems to have a take on the conditioning and controls that young women face in society.

Shanthi Priya, Saranya Ravichandran, Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, and Sashank Bommireddipalli also star in Bad Girl. The film will have its world premiere at the 54th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, from 30th January to 9th February 2025, where it has been selected to be a part of the prestigious Tiger Competition.

The technical crew of Bad Girl comprises cinematographers Preetha Jayaraman (ISC), Jagadeesh Ravi, and Prince Anderson; editor Radha Sridhar; and music composer Amit Trivedi, who is making his Tamil debut with the film. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
