We had earlier reported last year that director Prem Anand, who made DD Returns, will join hands with actor Santhanam once again for a sequel to the hit film. It has now been announced that the sequel has been titled DD Next Level. Actor Arya will be producing the upcoming entertainer which will also star actor-directors Selvaraghavan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, along with Kasthuri Shankar and Yashika Aannand.

Arya and Santhanam have previously worked together in films like Oru Kalluriyin Kathai, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, Chikku Bukku, Settai, Raja Rani, Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, and the latest Madha Gaja Raja where the former played a cameo role. The upcoming film will also be produced by Niharika Entertainment. The makers are yet to announce the extended cast and technical crew of the film.

The Dhilluku Dhuddu franchise began in 2016 with the namesake horror comedy, directed by Rambhala. He returned to direct Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, which was released in 2019. A third film, a standalone sequel titled DD Returns, released in 2023 and was helmed by Prem Anand. All the films were commercial hits at the box office.
