As promised earlier this week, the production banner of Jailer, Sun Pictures officially announced a sequel to the Rajinikanth starrer with a special teaser earlier today, on the special occasion of Pongal. The Nelson directorial has been titled Jailer 2. The announcement video starts with Jailer composer Anirudh and director Nelson meditating in luxury chairs and having a casual conversation. Suddenly, a group of goons are left wounded in front of them by a person whose face remains undisclosed until the final few seconds of the trailer. Obviously, it is Rajinikanth as "Tiger" Muthuvel Pandian, the man who kills without batting an eyelid. As his identity is fully revealed, some lines from 'Tiger Ka Hukum' plays in the background. The teaser does not reveal anything else about the film.

Speculation about Jailer 2 have been rife for a long time now, and Nelson confirmed it at a 2024 event. However, this is the first official confirmation about the film and its title from the production house. The makers are yet to announce further details about the plot, cast, and crew. That said, if the teaser is anything to go by, the second part will be more of the same, following Muthuvel Pandian's adventures.
