After including the popular Punnagai Mannan background score as an interlude to the first single 'Kaatrin Viral', Aghathiyaa's second single too has an Ilaiyaraaja connection. This time it's a remix of his 'En Iniya Pon Nilave'.

The makers of the Pa Vijay-Jiiva film dropped the remix of the evergreen song, which, in the film, is set against the backdrop of a British India-era party, where the character played by Arjun tries to woo an English woman. Yuvan has reimagined this song with the original lyrics by Gangai Amaran, with Vijay Yesudas and Priya Jearson lending their vocals. It is worth noting the song was originally sung by Yesudas.

Aghathiyaa also stars Arjun, Raashii Khanna, Edward Sonnenblick, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, and Redin Kingsley. Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International and Aneesh Arjun Dev's Wam India are the producers of Aghathiyaa. According to a press note, it is a horror-thriller film, but the makers are yet to reveal any details about its plot and characters.

Aghathiyaa is Pa Vijay's third directorial venture, after Strawberry (2015) and Aaruthra (2018). He doubled up as a writer in these two films, besides serving just as a writer in Gnabagangal (2009) and the Tamil dialogue writer for the Telugu film Rudhramadevi (2015).

Aghathiyaa's technical crew comprises music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy, editor San Lokesh, stunt choreographer K Ganesh, and dance choreographer Sridhar.

The film is all set to hit theatres on January 31.
