Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed his interest in collaborating with actor Ajith Kumar.

In a short clip that is being circulated on social media, where the director is seen at an event, he responded to a question as to when he will collaborate with Ajith. He said that he has worked with Kamal, Vijay and Rajinikanth; it is natural for the fans to want him to helm an Ajith film. Saying that he too desires to collaborate with the actor and he hopes that this will happen soon.

Lokesh, who last made Leo starring Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun, is working on Rajinikanth's Coolie, which features an ensemble cast of Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir and Shruti Haasan. Though there is no official word on this yet, it is expected that Aamir Khan has joined the project.

Apart from his directorial duty, Lokesh is also producing Benz, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, starring Raghava Lawrence in the titular role. The film was officially announced to be a part of the LCU in October last year. He is also backing Mr Bhaarath, starring Bhaarath and Samyuktha Viswanathan, directed by Niranjan.

In addition to these projects, he also has a 10-minute-long prelude, Chapter Zero, to the origins of the LCU films Kaithi, Vikram and Leo. This short film is expected to explore the common thread between these films.
