The maker of Shane Nigam's Tamil debut, Madraskaaran, unveiled the trailer of the film in an audio launch event on Monday in Chennai.

The trailer glimpse of the film, directed by Rangoli-fame Vaali Mohan Das, takes us back and forth from the point of view of the characters played by Shane and Kalaiyarasan. What ensues is a multitude of stunt sequences. We will have to wait for the film's release to know what the inciting incident is that makes both bay for each other's blood.

Apart from Shane and Kalaiyarasan, the film also stars Niharika Konidela, Aishwarya Dutta, Karunas, and Pandiarajan. The film will be Niharika's second Tamil project after Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren (2018). In an earlier interview with CE, writer-director Vaali said that the film revolves around the consequences of an ego clash between two people and that it centres on the idea of "how a negligible incident completely changes a person's life."

Madraskaaran is touted as an action thriller along the lines of Prithviraj Sukumaran's Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Driving Licence, as well as Shane's own Ishq. The film went on floors in February 2024 and wrapped shoot in June. It has cinematography by Prasanna S Kumar, editing by R Vasanthakumar, and music by Sam CS. The film is produced by B Jagadish through SR Productions.

Madraskaaran is set for release on January 10. The other films that will compete with Madraskaaran in the Pongal season are Vanangaan, Kadhalikka Neramillai, Nesippaya, Madha Gaja Raja, Tharunam, along with the big-ticket Shankar-Ram Charan film Game Changer.
