Actor Kalaiyarasan will next be playing the lead in debut director Sivaraj N's Trending. The film's first look was unveiled by the makers on Friday.

Kalaiyarasan will be joined by Priyalaya, who has acted in Inga Naan Thaan Kingu and Good Night, as the female lead. Actors Prem Kumar and Besant Ravi are part of the supporting cast.

The first look is the caption, Howa telltale that the film will be about a vlogging couple that desperately does things to remain as the trending couple. The caption - How far would you go - is suggestive of the same.

Interestingly, the theme of the film is similar to the Kalaiyarasan starrer segment 'Fame Game' in Vignesh Karthick's anthology film Hot Spot that released last year. The actor was last seen in Sarath Kumar's Smile Man and will be a part of Madraskaaran, Malayalam actor Shane Nigam's Tamil debut, Mugam and Thandakaaranyam.

Backed by Ram Film Factory Production and Barefoot Production, Trending's technical crew comprises cinematographer Praveen Balu, editor Nagooran Ramachandran, music director Sam CS and stunt director Monster Mukesh.
