With a release date set for February 14 this year, the makers of director Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan's Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai cleared the censorship formalities on Thursday.

It was announced that the film, starring Vineeth and Rohini in the lead roles, received a U/A certificate with no cuts.

Also starring Lijomol Jose, Kalesh and Deepa, Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai is a film that talks about the most important psychological problem in love. The film was an official selection for the Indian Panorama of the 54th International Film Festival, 2023.

Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan has previously helmed Thalaikoothal. In an earlier conversation with CE about the film, the director said, “Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai will be a social drama. Initially, the film was titled Butterfly, symbolising coming out from the cocoon, and they announce they are not straight. The film will be about how society will perceive such individuals, and talk about inclusivity and the LGBTQ community. “Love cannot be judged by anyone or any belief system. Love is above all.”

Kaadhal Enbadhu Podhuudamai's technical crew comprises DOP Sree Saravanan, editor Dani Charles, and music composer Kannan Narayanan. Presented by director Jeo Baby, the film is produced by Jomon Jacob, Nithiyah Atputharajah, Dijo Augustine, Vishnu Rajan, and Sajin S Raj unver the Mankind Cinemas, Symmetry Cinemas and Nith's Productions banners. The film is being distributed by G Dhananjayan on behalf of Creative Entertainer & Distributor.
