The first look posters of Dhanush's fourth directorial, Idli Kadai, were dropped by the makers on the occasion of New Year's Day on Wednesday.

Captioned "Stay connected to your roots," one poster has Dhanush carrying utensils in a village backdrop donning a veshti. He is seen in a younger look standing next to apparently his character's father, played by Rajkiran, in another poster.

Apart from directing, Dhanush will also star in and co-produce Idli Kadai, which features Nithya Menen and Samuthirakani in prominent roles. Further details about the extended cast and the plot are yet to be revealed. Judging by the old poster that the actor shared, it looks like he plays the owner of a humble eatery by the name of Sivanesan Idli Kadai.

Composer GV Prakash Kumar will reunite with Dhanush with Idli Kadai after their recent collaborations on Vaathi and Captain Miller, and the upcoming film Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. On the technical front, Idli Kadai also has cinematography by Kiran Koushik, editing by Prasanna GK, and production design by Jacki.

The film will be made collaboratively by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar films. Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush are the producers, while Sreyas Srinivasan is the executive producer.

Idli Kadai will release in theatres on April 10, 2025.
