Actor Gautham Karthik, who will next be seen in the Arya starrer Mr X, has changed his name to Gautham Ram Karthik.

This comes weeks after Jayam Ravi, in an official note, announced he will henceforth be called Ravi Mohan for all intents and purposes. However, Gautham did not issue such a note but made this change on his Twitter page.

Son of veteran actor Karthik and grandson of late actor Muthuraman, Gautham made his acting debut in Mani Ratnam's Kadal in 2013. He went on to make films such as Vai Raja Vai, Rangoon, Devarattam, and Pathu Thala. His last releases, Pathu Thala and August 16, 1947, came in 2023. Though he had no acting appearances last year, Gautham lent his voice for Rohman Shawl, who played the main antagonist Asif Wani in Sivakarthikeyan starrer Amaran.

Apart from Mr X, the actor also has Criminal in the pipeline.
