The trailer of the upcoming film Yamakaathaghi, starring Telugu actor Roopa Koduvayur in the lead role, has been unveiled by the makers. Billed as a supernatural thriller, the upcoming film is directed by Peppin George Jayaseelan and produced by Sujith Sarang and Sreejith Sarang under their banner, the Sarang Brothers. Apart from bankrolling the film, the brothers duo will also be handling the cinematography and edits, respectively.

The two-minute-long trailer opens with an ominous tone about a closed door that is guarded by villagers from opening it. Parallely, it gives a glimpse into the life of a young girl as she experiences love for the first time. When the girl rebels about opening the door as a putrid smell arises, she faces dire consequences and dies. When the family prepares for her funeral, her body moves, startling villagers. Why does the body of a young girl refuse to leave the house? What message is she trying to convey to the villagers? The answers to these important questions are set to form the rest of the story.

Roopa is known for her roles in Uma Mahesawara Ugra Roopasya and Mr Pregnant, also has Sarangapani Jathakam, which awaits a release date. Yamakaathaghi marks her Tamil debut.

Apart from Roopa, the film stars Narendra Prasath, Haritha, Geetha Kailasam and Subash Ramasamy. The film is slated for release on March 7.
