The multi-hyphenated Silambarasan, known as an actor, singer, dancer, and more, forays into production with his next, STR 50, which is all set to be helmed by Desingh Periyasamy. On Monday, on the occasion of his birthday, the actor took to his official X handle to announce his production debut.

"I’m excited to share that I’m stepping into a new journey as a producer with Atman Cinearts," he wrote, sharing a poster of STR 50. "There’s no better way to begin this than with my 50th film, a dream project for both me and Desingh Periyasamy. We are pouring our hearts into this! Excited for this new venture and truly hoping for all your love and support as always," he added (sic).

Desingh Periyasamy, known for helming Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal, was previously set to collaborate with Silambarasan for a film that was set to be made under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner. It is unclear if that film is still happening, as updates about the film have been minimal for a long time.

STR 50 is all set to have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa, and editing by Praveen Antony. More details about the film, such as the extended cast and plot, are awaited.

Meanwhile, Silambarasan also has Thug Life with Kamal Haasan, an untitled film with Ashwath Marimuthu, and STR 49 with Ramkumar Balakrishnan in the pipeline.
