While it was expected that producer JSK's directorial debut Fire would be releasing on February 21, the makers announced that the release date has been moved up by a week to February 14.

The trailer that released late last year was suggestive of a physiotherapist misusing his profession to extort several women by photographing and videographing them in compromised positions.

To the uninformed, the story may have been inspired by the sensational Nagercoil Kasi case of 2020. Kasi was a notorious exortionist. He was involved in shooting intimate with over 100 women in a compromised position and has extorted lakhs of rupees from the victims. The prosecution revealed that he exploited over 120 women, and law enforcement recovered almost 1,900 obscene photographs and 400 videos from him.

The film, produced by Sathish Kumar's JSK Film Corporation, stars Balaji Murugadoss, Chandini Tamilarasan, Rachitha Mahalakshmi, Sakshi Agarwal, Gayathri Shan, Singampuli and Suresh Chakravarthi. Fire's technical crew comprises music composer DK, cinematographer Sathish G, editor CS Prem Kumar, and art director SS Suseedevaraj.
