Atlee, Nelson Dilipkumar, and Lokesh Kanagaraj. Each of these directors had a Vijay story to share at the ongoing Jana Nayagan audio launch event in Malaysia. Atlee, who addresses Vijay fondly as 'Anna', reminisced about the time when the superstar called him and asked him for a project when he was working as an assistant director. Atlee said that Vijay had completed 50 films by the time the actor called him, appreciated his hard work and told him to let him know if he had a project in mind for the superstar. Atlee said that no other actor with such stardom would make a gesture like that. After his speech, Atlee embraced Vijay on stage, and the actor kissed on his shoulder.
On the other hand, Nelson spoke about the friendship he continues to share with Vijay, his Beast (2022) star. The filmmaker said that he wondered whether Vijay was upset with him because of the mixed audience response to their film Beast. However, he revealed that Vijay banished all such thoughts in his mind and continued to contact him. Nelson also said that he wished to make another film with Vijay, without the same mistakes that he made in the 2022 actioner.
Lokesh, too, echoed Nelson's sentiment, saying that he would have loved to do a sequel to his 2023 film Leo, starring Vijay. "If I could ask a question to him about a project, it would have been about Leo 2 and Vijay would have responded to me, saying, 'Bloody Sweet,'" Lokesh said, referring to the popular line from their 2023 film. The filmmaker, who has also worked with Vijay on Master (2021), ended his speech by wishing Jana Nayagan a grand success. "I have worked with everyone who is part of this film and wish you all a grand success," Lokesh said.
