Even amidst calls for his prolonged existence in the film industry at the Jana Nayagan audio launch, Vijay reiterated his decision to quit acting for a career in politics. “I entered cinema expecting to build a sand house, but you provided me with a palace,” Vijay said. The actor and TVK leader added that he aims to stand for the next many years for the same people who flocked to theatres to watch his films in his whole career. Vijay said that this is his way of paying his gratitude to the fans who stood by him through thick and thin over the last many years.

The actor also spoke highly of his Jana Nayagan director H Vinoth, calling him a socially responsible filmmaker. Vijay said that he was planning to do a film with Vinoth earlier too. Speaking about Anirudh, Vijay compared the composer to a department store that would never run out of options for music. Vijay said that Mamitha Baiju plays his sister in the film and that she would become families’ favourite sister after its release. The actor also said that he has been sharing the best chemistry with Prakash Raj ever since 2004’s Ghilli

The actor also mentioned that he has “a strong enemy” now that makes him push towards greater success. “History will repeat next year,” Vijay said, seemingly referring to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election.

When the Jana Nayagan audio launch event host asked Vijay who could take his place in films, Vijay kept it mysterious by saying people would know where every single person belongs. In a rapid fire question and answer session with Mirchi Vijay, the actor said that he dislikes the Tamil word ‘Droham’.

Vijay also danced to ‘Thalapathy Kacheri’ before leaving the stage.
