The box office battle between Sivakarthikeyan-Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi and Vijay-H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan has become more intense with the former film moving its release date one day closer to the latter. Since the change in its release date, netizens have been building up the battle, referring to both films' pre-release numbers and BookMyShow interest data. However, producer and actor T Siva, who played a small role in Vijay's film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), played down the imminent box office battle. Speaking to The Final Cut, Siva said that Parasakthi is no ordinary movie and that its director (Sudha Kongara) is well known and extremely talented. The actor-producer also referenced the moment in the climax of GOAT where Vijay's character gives a gun to Sivakarthikeyan's character and tells him to save thousands of lives.

The GOAT scene has since been viewed as a case of Vijay, who had announced his decision to quit acting by then, passing the baton of being a big star to Sivakarthikeyan. Producer Siva also seems to echo this popular sentiment. The filmmaker said that the moment in GOAT serves as an acknowledgement of Sivakarthikeyan's talent by Vijay. "He did not give it to a random person but rather someone who knows how to shoot and will not miss the target," Siva stated about the aforesaid scene.

The filmmaker also said that both actors would hit their targets and both Parasakthi and Jana Nayagan would taste success at the box office.
