Arun Vijay's Retta Thala clears censorship formalities

Retta Thala director Kris Thirukumaran made his directorial debut with Sivakarthikeyan's Maan Karate (2014), and then made Gethu (2016), starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Amy Jackson, and Sathyaraj

With the film's release planned for December 25, Retta Thala makers announced that it has cleared the censorship formalities with a U/A certificate.

After headlining Vanangaan, Arun Vijay will play the lead in Retta Thala. He was last seen as an antagonist in Dhanush's directorial Idli Kadai.

According to the trailer, the plot of the film looks to be dealing with identity confusion with two similar-looking characters, Kaali and Malpe Upendra (both played by Arun Vijay), with one being a dreaded gangster.

Before filmmaking, Kris served as an assistant director to AR Murugadoss in Gajini, Ezham Arivu, Thuppakki, and Sarkar.

Apart from the male and female leads, the film also stars Tanya Ravichandran and Kannada actor Yogesh, who is making his Tamil debut. The star cast is rounded by John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi, and Balaji Murugadoss.

The technical crew of Retta Thala consists of music director Sam CS, cinematographer Tijo Tomy, editor Anthony, and stunt choreographers Anbariv.
