JioHotstar has revealed that the upcoming series, LBW - Life Beyond Wicket, is set to premiere on January 1, 2026. The sports drama stars Vikranth and Niyathi Kadambi in the lead.
Vikranth stars as Rangan, a cricket coach for the Muthu Nagar team, alongside Niyathi Kadambi as one of the team members Thangam. Theni Murugan is also part of the cast.
A teaser for the series was released, which revealed Rangan stepping in as a coach for the underperforming Muthu Nagar team, whose players are reckless as they are non-chalant to Rangan's inputs. The relationship between the players and Rangan will be explored in the series.
Vikranth was recently seen in AR Murugadoss' Madharaasi (2025), which starred Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. He played the role of Sandeep, an NIA officer, and the son of Premnath (Biju Menon).
Niyathi, the daughter of actors Chetan and Devadarshini, first appeared as the younger version of Subha, Devadarshini's character in '96 (2018). She later appeared in Prime Video's Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, which starred her parents in the lead.
LBW - Life Beyond Wicket is one of 25 projects announced at JioStar's JioHotstar South Unbound event.
