As Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar, helmed by Nalan Kumarasamy, is gearing up for release, the makers have announced that it has cleared the censorship formalities with a U/A certificate.

Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan, and the two with Krithi Shetty, who plays the female lead. Though Krithi has starred in the Tamil-Telugu film, The Warriorr, starring Ram Pothineni and directed by Lingusamy, she makes a proper Tamil debut with Vaa Vaathiyaar. She also has two more upcoming Tamil films: Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) and Genie. Karthi, who last headlined Meiyazhagan, will also be seen in Sardar 2 and Marshal.

Billed as an action-comedy entertainer, Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan. The film also stars Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Shilpa Manjunath, and Ramesh Thilak in pivotal roles.

Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of the Studio Green banner, Vaa Vaathiyaar's technical crew comprises cinematographer George C Williams, editor Vetre Krishnan, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, and art director DRK Kiran.

The film is getting released in theatres on December 12.
