Having played a pivotal role in actor-composer Vijay Antony's Maargan, we had reported that Ajay Dhishan will headline Pookie. The film is produced by Vijay Antony, who is also Ajay's uncle.

The latest update from the makers is that the film will be released in theatres on February 13, 2026. The first single, 'Manasu Valikidhu', was unveiled earlier.

Helmed by debutant MC Ganesh Chandra, nothing much is known about the film’s plot except that it is going to be a rom-com. Ganesh Chandra is known for his work as a cinematographer in films such as Salim, Enkitta Mothathe, Jolly O Gymkhana, and Emakku Thozhil Romance.

Vijay Antony had earlier announced that he will take up music composing for films not featuring him like before, owing to the response his songs are garnering in concerts, starting with Pookie. He, meanwhile, will next be seen in Joshua Sethuraman’s sophomore film, Lawyer.
