Priyadarshi's much-acclaimed Telugu hit Court – State vs. A Nobody, which was released earlier this year, is all set for a remake in Tamil by noted actor-director Thiagarajan.

While details have not been officially announced, his son and actor Prashanth is set to take on Priyadarshi's role. Thiagarajan will direct alongside S Kathiresan, who owns the Five Star Creations banner. If reports are to be true, his son Krithik and Devayani's daughter Iniya will debut as the leads. Speculations are also rife about Thiagarajan taking on the role of the antagonist (played by Sai Kumar in the original) in the film. Lollu Sabha Palaniappan recently confirmed playing a supporting role. Filming is currently underway for the remake. Further details, including title and a release date are kept under wraps.

Directed by Ram Jagadeesh, Court: State vs A Nobody also starred Sivaji, Rohini, Harsha Vardhan, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Harsh Roshan and Sridevi Apalla in prominent roles. Presented by Nani, the film was commercially and critically successful upon release and earned over Rs 57 crore at the box office. The film revolved around the legal conundrums behind the POCSO act and its misuse under the hands of powerful individuals.

Previously, Thiagarajan had also remade Sriram Raghavan's Andhadhun (2018) in Tamil as Andhagan, which was released last year. Prashanth took on Ayushmann Khurrana's role, while Simran played Tabu's role. Priya Anand, KS Ravikumar, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Urvashi, Manobala and Vanitha Vijayakumar played supporting roles. Unlike other remakes of Andhadhun, this film was a commercial success.
