Over the last few days, speculations were rife about actor Suriya's plans of entering politics and contesting in the upcoming Tamil Nadu state assembly elections opposite Vijay. The All India Suriya Fans Club has now released a statement on behalf of the actor, denying all rumours about his involvement in active politics or upcoming elections and stated that this would "contradict his core principles".

"Over the past few days, certain false information regarding our brother Suriya has been circulating on digital platforms. It is being spread on social media that Suriya is set to enter the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections. This news is not only entirely untrue but also contradicts his core principles," they said.

"His journey in the world of cinema and his commitment to Agaram have already provided a sense of fulfillment in his life," the team added.

Suriya’s Agaram Foundation recently marked 15 years of empowering and educating underprivileged children and youth. A special event to mark the event was held earlier this month where the actor, along with his family and several celebrities, came together to celebrate the milestone.

Expressing their gratitude for drawing global attention to the event, Suriya Fans Club extended their heartfelt thanks and reiterated that the actor remains solely focussed on his projects in cinema.

Suriya, who was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj's Retro, is currently working on RJ Balaji's Karuppu which marks his 45th film. Simultaneously, he is also shooting for Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri.
