Maareesan to stream on Netflix from this date

Maareesan, which reunited Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu after Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan, was released theatrically on July 25

Maareesan, which stars Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu in the lead, will stream on Netflix from August 22. The film is directed by Sudheesh Shankar and features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Maareesan, which reunited Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu after Mari Selvaraj's Maamannan, was released theatrically on July 25. The film grossed over Rs 6.53 Crores, according to the box officer tracker Sacnilk. The cast of the film also featured Kovai Sarala, Vivek Prasanna, Sithara, PL Thenappan, Livingston, Renuka, and Saravana Subbiah, among others.

The story of the film follows the story of a thief, played by Fahadh Faasil, who accompanies a man with an unreliable memory, played by Vadivelu, on a road trip, as the thief tries to steal from the man he accompanies. They encounter some grave twists in the journey, which also leads to a police officer, played by Kovai Sarala, in pursuit of them.

CE's review of Maareesan reads, "This is not the first time we have seen Vadivelu in a full-fledged non-comedic role, and certainly not the last time anybody is going to talk about the actor’s seismic impact on Tamil pop culture."
