Kamal Haasan on Rajinikanth completing 50 years: 'I celebrate our Super Star with affection and admiration

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have collaborated, starting with the former's debut in Apoorva Ragangal, Moondru Mudichu, 16 Vayadhinile, Allauddinum Albutha Vilakkum, and Ilamai Oonjal Aadukiradhu

On the eve of the release of Rajinikanth's Coolie, Kamal Haasan took to social media to pen a note about the former completing 50 years in the cinema industry. Rajinikanth made his debut in 1975, in K Balachandar's Apoorva Ragangal, which also starred Kamal Haasan.

Taking to X, Kamal wrote, "Marking half a century of cinematic brilliance, my dear friend Rajinikanth celebrates 50 glorious years in cinema today. I celebrate our Super Star with affection and admiration, and wish Coolie resounding global success befitting this golden jubilee."

Kamal also went on to voice his support for the rest of the team behind Coolie, including Lokesh Kanagaraj, who directed Kamal in Vikram (2022). He wrote, "Helmed by the powerhouse Lokesh Kanagaraj, backed by the pillar of our industry Kalanithi Maran, enriched by the ever-inventive Anirudh, and brought to life by my long-time friends Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir. A special cheer to my darling daughter Shruti Haasan, keep shining bright."

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have also collaborated on films like Moondru Mudichu16 VayadhinileAllauddinum Albutha VilakkumIlamai Oonjal AadukiradhuAval Appadithan, Avargal, and Ninaithale Inikkum. They also collaborated with Amitabh Bachchan on Geraftaar. Their final collaboration came with K Balachandar's Thillu Mullu.
