Aparna Das took to her Instagram Stories to make an announcement about one of her upcoming projects. Sharing a picture with Sasikumar, who reportedly plays a lead role in Vadhandhi Season 2, Aparna wrote, "And that's a wrap for Summayya." She tagged Sasikumar and Vadhandhi: The Fable of Velonie's writer-director Andrew Louis in the post, while mentioning V2 with a hashtag. Summayya appears to be her character's name in the upcoming project. In a series of posts on her Instagram Stories, Aparna mentioned, "Something very interesting on the way!" Andrew also shared Aparna's picture with Sasikumar.

It is worth noting that Prime Video is yet to officially announce a second season for the series, starring SJ Suryah, Nasser, Laila, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Vivek Prasanna, and Smruthi Venkat, among others. However, there are reports suggesting that Vadhandhi Season 2 is in development. Seriesfied first reported about it back in May this year. The makers are expected to announce the second season in the near future.

Premiered in 2022, Vadhandhi revolves around a police officer, a journalist and a novelist looking into a young girl's murder from their respective perspectives. Created by Pushkar and Gayatri, the series, consisting of eight episodes, gained mixed reviews from the critics. However, it earned appreciation for Suryah and Sanjana's performances.
