Fan decorates Rajinikanth's temple with 5500 photos from his films to celebrate his golden jubilee year

Celebrations have already begun in many parts of Tamil Nadu, not just ahead of Coolie's release, but to also mark the veteran actor's 50th year in cinema. A fan named Karthik celebrated the milestone by adorning the Rajinikanth temple, Arulmigu Sri Rajini Temple with over 5,500 photographs of the star in Madurai.

Besides, he also performed a customary 'abhishekam' for the idol to show his admiration for the actor. The temple houses a 300-kg idol of Rajinikanth and serves as a testament to the profound admiration and lasting popularity the superstar enjoys among fans of all ages.

Not just Karthik, even his family members joined in to celebrate the milestone by performing rituals for Rajinikanth. The photos consist of the actor's film posters, pictures from his young age and miscellaneous film stills and are pasted behind the actor's idol in the temple.

The actor who has completed 50 years in the cinema industry this year, debuted K Balachander's Apoorva Raagangal in 1975. He is currently awaiting the release of his 171st film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The ensemble cast of the film features Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj and Aamir Khan in lead roles with Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy, Kaali Venkat, and Charle playing supporting roles.
