Chennai's Main Sessions Court has ordered the arrest of Meera Mithun. The arrest comes after the actor made disparaging remarks against Dalits back in 2021.

Back in 2021, the actor was caught making casteist slurs against people from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe in a video that was shared on social media. In the video, the actor was seen saying that people from Scheduled Caste should be 'chucked' outside the film industry, after alleging that a filmmaker used her photos without her permission,for a film's first look poster.

The actor who has been absconding from the authorities for over 3 years, has been ordered to appear before the court on August 11.

Meera Mithun is a former model and actor who is known for her participation in Vijay TV's reality program Bigg Boss. She also appeared as a contestant in Vijay TV's Jodi Number One. She has also appeared in films like 8 Thottakal, Thaana Serndha Kootam, and Bodhai Yeri Buddhi Maari.
