The makers of Vemal's upcoming film revealed that the title of the film is Vadam. Music for the film will be composed by D Imman, in his third time composing for a film starring Vemal after Desingu Raja and Oru Oorula Rendu Raja.

The poster for the film shows the horns of a bull, decorated with some flowers. The bull looks at a post to which some ropes are tied to. The film is said to be a tale revolving around the traditional sport of Vada Manjuvirattu. Very similar to Jallikattu, the sport involves several players who are required to tame a bull within a specific time limit. Like Jallikattu, Vada Manjuvirattu is also part of the Pongal celebrations across Tamil Nadu. Vadam is a continuation of Vemal's foray into the village based film genre, similiar to his previous films like Pasanga, Kalavani, Vaagai Sooda Va, and Desingu Raja.

Sangeetha Kalyankumar and Bala Saravanan are also part of the cast of Vadam.

Kenthiran V has written and directed Vadam, for which dialogues are written by Gnanakaravel. Gnanakaravel has also written lyrics for the film. The technical crew of the film consists of Prasanna S Kumar handling cinematography, Sabu Joseph handling editing, V Sasikumar handling art, and Murugan handling stunts. Veerasekar R is producing Vadam.

Vemal who was recently seen in Desingu Raja 2 and Paramasivan Fathima, is also working on an untitled film, directed by Elson Eldhose.
