A release date has been announced for The Verdict, starring Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in lead roles. Helmed by Krishna Sankar, the film is all set to hit theatres on May 30.

In an earlier conversation with CE, the debut director divulged about setting a courtroom drama in the US and how tricky it was to differentiate Indian and American legal systems in order to make it comprehensible for audiences here. “Except for the jury system, I don’t think there is much of a difference between court proceedings in India and the US. Also, things happening outside the court are common and relatable to the Indian audience,” he said, adding that the actors were so cooperative that he was able to complete the filming in 23 days as planned.

The Verdict also stars Sruthi Hariharan, Vidyulekha Raman and Prakash Mohandas. Cinematographer Arvind Krishna, editor Sathish Surya and composer Aditya Rao, form the technical crew of the upcoming film. The film is produced by Prakash Mohandas' Agni Entertainment.
