Almost 48 hours after the horrific killings of over 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam by a terror outfit associated with Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba, actor Vishal has hit out at the dastardly attack in strong terms.

On his X handle, Vishal called the attacks an "act of cowardice", and the news of this incident made him shocked and worried. While condemning the act, he also shared his condolences with the bereaved families of the victims, saying the nation now must stand in support of these families.

He further wrote that such acts of violence are unacceptable.

Despite the blame game, leaders registered their condemnation of the act, cutting across the party lines. Tragedy struck Kashmir's mini Switzerland, Pahalgam, as armed militants shot the tourists to death on April 22. With charges of security breach and intelligence failure levelled against the central government, this attack is seen as a body blow to Kashmir tourism that showed signs of revival after the abrogation of Article 370 and COVID-19 strictures.
