Actors Upendra and Shivarajkumar are busy touring cities across India in an effort to promote their upcoming Kannada film, 45, which also stars Raj B Shetty. At a recent press meet in Hyderabad, Upendra confirmed that he will be having a combination scene with Rajinikanth, Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna in the upcoming Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial, Coolie.
Speaking about how he came onboard Coolie, Upendra said, “Lokesh Kanagaraj approached me with the story without me even asking, and I'm humbled to be working alongside Rajinikanth. I don't need to ask questions; just being part of his creative process is enough for me. I see him as a Dronacharya, and I consider myself fortunate like Ekalavya to learn from him. His work has entertained many, but for me, it's been a journey of growth and enlightenment.”
Furthermore, when a reporter pointed out that Coolie is star-studded with Aamir Khan and Nagarjuna also a part of the cast, Upendra nodded, smiled, and confirmed that he has combination scenes with the veteran actors.
Coolie will mark the reunion of Sathyaraj and Rajinikanth after 38 years. They previously acted together in Mr Bharath, in which the former played the father of the latter. The upcoming film, which will not be a part of the LCU according to Lokesh, also stars Shruti Haasan, Shoubin Shahir, and Pooja Hegde, among others. Aamir Khan’s appearance in the film is yet to be officially confirmed by the makers, but BTS videos from the film’s shoot confirm his involvement.
On the technical front, Coolie has music by Anirudh, cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, editing by Philomin Raj, and stunts by Anbariv. The dialogues for the film are written by Lokesh alongside Chandhru Anbazhagan, who has also written the additional screenplay for the film.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his Sun Pictures banner, Coolie is scheduled to release on August 14 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
